The Folsom Lake Surf training program follows the US Soccer Curriculum and has the resources of the Surf Soccer organization and its affiliate programs nationwide. The US Soccer Curriculum develops skills across all ages in four categories: Technical, Tactical, Physical, and Psychosocial. Skills are emphasized and prioritized based on players’ ages and skill levels (see skills in chart below).
For the delivery of the curriculum, we believe that coaches, like teachers, can have an amazing impact on player development. We seek to recruit and retain engaging, dynamic, and compassionate people. Our coaches are supported by the resources provided in The Coaching Manual program, engage in the Positive Coaching Alliance and Changing the Game Project, and are part of a larger network of learning through the Surf Soccer organization and its affiliate programs nationwide.
