Program Details

Subject to the availability of funds, Folsom Lake Surf (FLS) shall offer financial aids for soccer related costs to those members that demonstrate a need or financial hardship. The decision to make any award shall be made on a defined set of factors which are consistently applied to all applicants. All award decisions are made at the sole discretion of the FLS Financial Aid Committee. All application information submitted in support of a financial assistance application will be kept confidential, except to the extent necessary to effectively administer the program.

All applications will be reviewed by the FLS Financial Aid Committee and a representative of the club will contact you to discuss further and/or notify you of any aid awarded. However, we cannot guarantee we will be able to provide any financial aid. Incomplete applications may result in disqualification for financial aid.

Documentation Required – Complete copies of most recent year’s federal income tax returns along with W-2’s for all employed family members. Copies of most recent payroll stubs for all employed family members, which reflect year-to-date earnings. Copies of any court orders (i.e. divorce papers) regarding financial responsibility and / or support for the player. Also, FLS Financial Aid Application is required.

Eligibility – Any FLS member that meets the qualification requirements is eligible to apply for financial aid. Qualification is primarily based on family income. Other factors such as unemployment or other financial hardships may be considered by the FLS Financial Aid Committee. To be considered for financial aid, all applicants must be in good standing with both their current and past clubs.

Competitive Players:

No Financial aid will be granted to returning competitive players that did not complete their volunteer hours or that have a delinquent account from prior season. Payment of registration must be received to be eligible for financial assistance.

Each competitive player receiving financial aid must meet and adhere to all guidelines set forth in the Player/Parent Competitive Contract and demonstrate dedication through consistent attendance at team practices and games. Also, it is the responsibility of each family receiving financial aid to reciprocate through active participation in the club and its team activities, including the mandatory volunteer hours. Volunteer hours will be determined by the amount of financial aid awarded. Failure to adhere to these guidelines can result in the forfeiture of the financial aid award and player’s eligibility to participate in any soccer games and/or practices.

Recreational Players:

FLS shall offer Financial Aid for registration fee only to those members that demonstrate a need or financial hardship. It is the responsibility of each family receiving financial aid to reciprocate through active participation in the club and its team activities. Failure to adhere to these guidelines can result in the forfeiture of the financial aid award and player’s eligibility to participate in any soccer games and/or practices.

Amount of Aid Award – Any financial aid awarded will be applied to amounts due to the club, i.e. competitive tuition or monthly dues for competitive players or recreational registration fee for recreational players. The committee shall determine the amount of the financial aid available for a season; however, there is no obligation to award all/any of the financial aid funds available. Based on the total amount of the financial aid funds and the number of requests for financial aid, awards will be made based on reported family income. The maximum amount of an award to an individual for a season shall not exceed 100% of the membership dues and team fees.

Application Process – Applications for financial aid are available online and must be completed online by the deadline to be considered.

Competitive Player Applicants must register and pay the player registration fee into the FLS registration system to be considered for financial aid. Application deadline for Competitive players is June 1, 2023.

Recreational Players must register and apply for financial aid by the May 15, 2023 Deadline to be considered.
