Folsom Lake Surf (FLS) is offering two scholarship opportunities to graduating high school seniors (Class of 2025). Seniors can either apply or be nominated. The scholarship can be applied toward college and post-secondary education expenses.

Folsom Lake Surf HS Senior Scholar-Athlete Scholarship

  • Scholarship amount: $1000
  • One (1) award recipient in 2025

Award Guidelines:

  • Applicant must be a High School Senior, graduating in 2025.
  • Folsom Lake Surf Player, current US Club roster for 2024/25 through application due date.
  • 2024/25 minimum Grade Point Average of 3.2 and above (weighted/unweighted)
  • Only one application per player.

Applicants must submit the following materials:

  • Required Essay: Describe what it means to “Honor the Game” by respecting ROOTS (Rules, Opponents, Officials, Teammates, Self). Provide a specific example of an anecdote when possible. (500 words or less)
  • Official Report Card/Transcript
  • Letter of Recommendation (from a teacher, coach, employer, community member). One letter minimum.

Folsom Lake Surf HS Senior Humanitarian Award Scholarship

This scholarship is based on a nomination form submitted on behalf of the student recipient.

  • Scholarship amount: $500
  • One (1) award recipient in 2025.
  • The scholarship can be applied toward college and post-secondary education expenses.

Award Guidelines:

  • Recipient must be a High School Senior, graduating in 2025.
  • Folsom Lake Surf Player, current US Club roster for 2024/25 through application due date.
  • The Nomination can be made by a teacher, coach, employer, community member.
  • The Nominator is the preparer of the nomination and submits the completed application by deadline.

Applicants must submit the following materials:

  • Fill out Nomination Form
  • Required Essay(s):
  • Please share a story that illustrates how your nominee positively impacted an individual, team, organization, or community (500 words or less).
