Ruben Vazquez Commits to William Jessup University
Ruben has been kicking a soccer ball since before he could walk. He “officially” started his soccer career at the age of 4 playing for Sierra Gold Soccer in Placerville. Shortly after he moved to Folsom Soccer Club until transitioning from recreational to select with EDH Soccer Club. After a few years he moved over to Ethos that merged into Folsom Earthquakes and is ending here with the Folsom Lake Surf organization.
Ruben has had many wonderful coaches over the years who have all contributed to making him the player he is today. Ruben has immense love for the sport and works hard everyday on and off the field. When Ruben isn’t playing soccer for club, he is a starter for Ponderosa High School Soccer where he is one of the Varsity Captains.
Ever since Ruben was 7 years old he has wanted to play soccer in college. His dream came true when he was offered and accepted a spot on the William Jessup University Men’s Soccer team. He has always worked hard to balance his school work with soccer and plans to continue the same while attending William Jessup University in the fall where he will pursue his degree in Kinesiology.
“I am excited to become part of the William Jessup University soccer family. I want to thank all my family and friends for all the constant support over the years. I also want to thank all my coaches and teammates for helping me become the player I am today. I am thankful for this opportunity and can’t wait to continue playing soccer as a William Jessup Warrior.”
