We are building a spirit of community one step at a time: partnering with local businesses, helping our community, and appreciating our coaches.
BUSINESS | Many thanks to Crumbl Cookies in Folsom for hosting a Surf Food Fundraiser in September. Thank you for your generosity and continued support for soccer, the Surf, and providing job opportunities for our players. The Milk Chocolate Chip cookie is the best!
COMMUNITY | SAVE THE DATE! Juggles for Dimes (J4D) on Saturday, November 6th, 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Kemp 2 Field. This year’s J4D Event is going to be an amazing event for all Surf families. We are expanding the festivities this year to include more food, fun, and games as well as friendly juggling competitions to fundraise for our families and community in need. Team Managers are working with each of the teams to get the word out and help raise money for charitable causes as well as your own team.
APPRECIATION | A BIG THANK YOU to our Coaches, Team Managers, Referee Officials: With the true launch of the 2021 Fall League season, thank you for handling all the pent-up enthusiasm of competitive families. We are so grateful you enable our kids to play. This is so much better than last year and we could not do it without you.
If you know of any coaches or volunteers you would like to have recognized by Friends of Surf, please tell us about your coach or volunteer via email to: fos@folsomlakesurf.org.
COACH RECOGNITION: Kylee Wosnuk
We want to recognize one of our many great Surf coaches that has gone above and beyond to embody what we strive for through Friends of Surf. Kylee Wosnuk is the coach for the 2011 Boys Premier I team.
Coach Wosnuk’s team nominated her because she shows up to practice every day with a positive attitude and truly tries to bring out the best in her team. She encourages them and motivates them to be their best and work their hardest. This will be her third year with the team, and they all are so grateful to have her. Thank you, Coach Kylee!
If you’ve watched Kylee coach her team or survived one of her intense training sessions, she embodies the saying, “Talk the talk; walk the walk.” Read more about Coach Kylee and her journey. It will inspire you.
